When one door closes.

Sitting and analyzing my life and the constant – sometimes drastic – closing and opening of doors, I realize that it was just what I needed: a door to close; to unleash the beginning of something new. It will take lessons learned, courage, friends, family, and faith to successfully manage this change and new time, but it must be done. It is the law of nature. It will ultimately empower me - the law of action and reaction.

We often find ourselves standing between two worlds, two decisions, two choices and we never actually take a step to move forward because of fear. We are taught, time and time again, that we must trust and believe in our life’s mission. We have to trust even if fear stands in the way and threatens to block us from jumping, head first. Sometimes, however, that is exactly what is needed when attempting a new life adventure or experience.

Years ago, I came full circle with the doors of my own life, but today as I continue to close and open new doors, I’m reminded of the lesson I learned. In order to fully receive what is behind the next door or the next step and journey in your life, you must completely close the door on your past. You can carry with you all of its lessons and teachings but truly, you must close that door and end what was “then.” Only at that point can you step fully into the new.

You may be standing alone while closing that door, but remember the age-old saying “the greater the risk, the greater the reward.” More importantly, remember that if you are indeed trusting and believing, you are never really, truly alone. So, let’s get to closing some doors, people. Trust and Believe and Leap on!

“When one door of happiness closes another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see that which has opened for us.”
